Brrr, part two

Tonight is supposed to be the coldest night yet, which means no sleep for me as I try to keep the cats and critters alive. The last Arctic blast that came through froze and busted the pipes in my kitchen, and it cost a fortune to fix. Here's hoping the pipes hold this time.

It also froze my door shut, which meant I had to walk all the way around the house to check the shelters in my backyard. Not fun.

In news that is kind of fun, I only have a little more to go before the first draft of my Arrow fic, Only If for a Night, is done. And then I need to write the beginning of my Ladies' Bingo OUAT fic--the end is already done. :)

You need something like this to help your pipes! My mom uses electric blankets on hers, although most of her pipes are outdoors (her house uses well water) so they need the extra heat. Or you could leave one of your faucets running just slightly and see if that helps. Water usually won't freeze if it keeps moving.

Hope the kitties and other critters are doing all right! Admirable trying to keep them safe from cold.

That's my problem too--the house has a well instead of city water. Even leaving it dripping didn't stop it from busting last time. :/ We made it through okay this time, though, and it was even colder! I think the low was -12.
