So excited right now--I just bought my ticket for Wicked. It will be in Cincy next month, and Phantom will be in town in April/May. I'm a little sad no one is willing to go with me (none of my friends like musicals, unfortunately), especially since that means I'll have to take the bus to downtown on my own. :/ (I don't drive.)

Maybe I'll make a night of it, though. Book a room in a nice hotel, have dinner at a nice restaurant, and then take the bus back in the morning. If I can fly around the country on my own, I can spend one night on my own traveling around Cincinnati, right? Right.

The cold-ass weather is gone…and with no known cat casualties. :) During the coldest hours, we had twelve strays stashed around the house in various locations, five cats in the outdoor shelters and one kitty who decided to stay under my back porch. I didn’t think he’d make it, but he was out there this morning, wolfing down food.

I didn’t get more than three consecutive hours of sleep, but everyone pulled through (as far as I know), so it was worth it.

And now I’m going to sleep for the next two days! (I wish.)

This weekend and early next week, we're supposed to have record low temperatures in Southwest Ohio. As in the high temperature for the day will be in the negative degrees. It's really hard not to be a dick and make an I-wish-for-global-warming joke right now.

Aside from my personal health issues being aggravated by the cold, I'm terrified for the stray and feral cats I take care of. There are about twenty regulars who come by my house each week. I have feral cat shelters set up and try to keep fresh water and food out for them. But a low of -16? Windshield factors of -40? A high of -1? How will they survive that?

The ones who are tame enough, I'm going to have to figure out a way to get them inside. I have two big crates we use for crate training the dogs I foster, but that's not nearly enough.

I don't even know, and I've only got two days to figure it out.
